Workshop 1: Robot Technology (RT) for Addressing Social Issues

Objectives:
Due to the recent advances in sensors, actuators, and information and communication technologies, more Robot Technology (RT) elements as well as robots themselves have been introduced to our society. RTs enables us to provide physical assistance to users and are expected to contribute to solving social issues. This workshop will provide a great opportunity for the participants to present their ideas and technical achievements and aims to discuss RTs and robot systems for addressing social issues including aging society, environmental problems, economic disparity.

 

Workshop 2: Microplastics in natural waters: in-situ measurement and effects on microorganisms

Objectives:
[tentative] The universities in mid-town of Tokyo are required on contributions to preservation of water resources because there are a lot of canal and Tokyo city is faced with Tokyo bay. Additionally, microplastics spread in natural waters like river or sea becomes global significant problem. A lot of SIT laboratories research analysis methodologies and monitoring system. In the workshop, the plan or the results are presented.

The objective of this workshop is to enhance the understanding of all participants towards current advancements in science and technology and its future direction among the next generation of scientists, engineers, and students.
Moreover, to foster collaboration among young researchers and engineers from diverse specialties to drive innovation from a variety of perspectives through the open forum for discussing challenges and opportunities related to the science and technology of the future.

 

Workshop 4: How universities shape the entrepreneurship and innovation of tomorrow

To build a common understanding on entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as industry-academia-government collaboration in technical universities:

・Share information on how the universities are working on academia-government collaboration, entrepreneurship development, and creation of university-related startups Build a common understanding on roles of technical universities in driving entrepreneurship and innovation
